About Me

Hi! My name is Kate and I'm a freshman at Case Western Reserve University, majoring in Neuroscience. I co-founded Empower Expression in 2019 with the vision of helping young students find their voices. I strongly believe that communication is the foundation of life; the most powerful ability given to us is the ability to express our ideas and emotions and to share them with each other. Working with my amazing team here at Empower Expression, I hope to encourage students to follow their passions and use expression to create a positive impact in their communities.

About Me

I attend Central Little Rock High school and I play the Alto/Tenor and currently learning how to play the clarinet. I’m in Marching band, Top concert band and Orchestra. I’m also program manager of Our Songs Project, which is a group of musicians who play couple of selections at Nursing homes. With Covid breaking some of Musical experience it’s truly has been good that I’m able to still play on my instruments and help others virtually online. I believe music is another form of communication so allowing myself to tutor others and help out has also improved my ability to play music and understand it deeper.

About Me

My name is Nysa Maruthy and I am a junior at Little Rock Central High School! I love competing in speech events because I feel I can express myself through words. I believe the art of communication is very important in the world because it is what allows us to understand each other and our ideas, feelings, etc. I feel it is especially important for young students like myself, because it enhances our self confidence and morale and most importantly makes us feel empowered!

About Me

Hi! I’m Rose, and I’m a Junior at Little Rock Central High School. I play violin in my school and local youth orchestras, and I’m in my second year of congressional debate. Being involved in communications has created so many opportunities for me; it has both helped me grow as a person and become a better student. Through Empower Expression, I hope to provide future students the same growth and success I’ve experienced in the subject, no matter their circumstances.

About Me

The past few years, she has continued teaching the art of public speaking and research through competitive debate coaching with Classic Debate Camp LLC and the Laurel School in Shaker Heights. This summer she worked in Boston, MA with Avangrid Renewables on the Park City Wind and Commonwealth Wind Projects in the contract law department. Lindsey's experience with public speaking has helped her with her journey in academia and Law.

About Me

Hello! My name is Jackson Mills, a current junior at Little Rock Central High. I've been doing communication activities such as debate for multiple years now, as well as helping lead non-profit programs to teach younger students the art of public speaking and debate. In addition to debate, technology has been an interest of mine and something I hope to use to make communication mentoring more accessible through Empower Expression.
